Perfectly understandable because two of the Eagles starting players are from here in Albany.
Morehead State is led by former Albany High star Leon Buchanan and Westover alum Brandon Shingles.
They were rivals in high school but teammates at ABAC.
After leading Morehead State to the Ohio Valley Conference tournament title and the school's first NCAA tournament bid in 25 years, Buchanan and Shingles hope to lead the Eagles to a win in the play-in game tomorrow against Alabama State.
Leon Buchanan is a first team all Ohio Valley player who leads Morehead State in scoring.
Brandon Shingles was made the Eagles starting point guard in January and his teammates say his play is a big reason they Morehead State has made the NCAA tournament.
Leon Buchanan said. "He is a vocal guy on the floor. He is a pass first point guard. He just brings momentum to our team that we needed on the offensive end and the defensive end. He is just a natural leader at the point guard spot."
Brandon Shingles said. "I am happy that coach Tyndall and my teammates trusted me. Matter of fact they gave me the opportunity to lead this team. I am just overwhelmed with it. All I can do is just smile. I am just full of smiles."
The Morehead State/Alabama State winner will face top seed Louisville Friday.Feedback
