NASHVILLE, GA (WALB) - A South Georgia police officer is now on the other side of the law.

27-year-old James Watson is an officer with the Nashville Police Department in Berrien County. He was booked into the Ware County Jail Saturday and charged with solicitation of sodomy.

According to Georgia law, that's a misdemeanor charge unless it involves a person under the age of 17. If that's the case, it becomes a felony.

Authorities aren't saying much about the arrest at this time. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation out of Douglas is in charge of the investigation.
