Macon, GA (WALB) -
Another great season for the Turner County boys basketball team ends with another state runner up finish.
The Rebels fell 69-53 to Whitefield Academy in the class A state title game Saturday.
The game was tied at 27 at halftime but the second half was a nightmare for the Rebels.
Whitefield Academy opened the 3rd quarter with a 12-0 run and took advantage of Turner County turnovers and foul trouble, six Rebels fouled out of the game.
Turner County head coach Eric Holland wasn't making any excuses.
"They were the better basketball team tonight. Tip our hats to them. They played hard the whole game. We couldn't get it done tonight."
Turner County finished the season with a 30-2 record.
