ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A tip to the crime stoppers hotline helped lead Albany Police to two suspects in a gang shooting.

On Friday afternoon Police announced that 20-year-old Da'Vion Omar Watson, and 20-year old Kaheem Pittman were arrested in Decatur after a short chase.

They're wanted in connection to a shooting in the 700 block of South Van Buren Street near Gordon Avenue that wounded two men Monday afternoon.

Detectives say this type of help from the public gets criminals off the streets.

"We cannot express to the citizens how well we appreciate you all calling in being pro active, being concerned and we appreciate the assistance we have received," said Det. Schemika Foster, Albany Police Department.

Watson is charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault.

Right now, Pittman is only charged with a probation violation, but police say they may add more charges.
