Good morning! A drier weather day is on tap today, after yesterday's encountering of severe weather that rolled through. We'll see a good chance for thunderstorms during your July 4th holiday weekend. A few thunderstorms will contain strong wind gusts, creating instances of wind damage. With much less thunderstorm activity today, highs will get to the low 90s. Lows on Saturday will come down to the low 70s.
Early this morning, a broad, upper trough encompasses the Eastern-half of the U.S. This trough has been responsible for transporting impulses of energy, from West to East, across the base of it, in to Southwest Georgia, which will resume over the July 4th holiday weekend, providing for occasional episodic periods of showers thunderstorms.
The next formidable disturbance looks to arrive Saturday afternoon evening, for which showers and thunderstorms are expected, at that time. In to Sunday, disturbances will linger in the vicinity, thereby renewing thunderstorm chances for Sunday.
