THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Georgia fans were celebrating when Thomas County Central defensive end Ray Drew committed to the Bulldogs in late January.
Georgia has notified the SEC that five NCAA bylaws were broken when former Georgia football greats attended the press conference.
Those players are believed to be Randall Godfrey and David Pollack who both spoke at the announcement.
Godfrey and Pollack were invited by Drew and one of his teachers Randy Young who helped arranged Drew's announcement..
Thomas County Central head football coach Bill Shaver told WALB News 10 Sports Wednesday afternoon Georgia's compliance officer had been at the school talking with school personnel.
Shaver says Georgia had nothing to do with any elements of Drew's press conference and in his opinion Georgia did not violate any rules.
The violations are considered minor.
If any sanctions are handed down, they are expected to be minor.
Information from the Associated Press was used in this report.
