Tifton students caught with knives in school

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -Police in Tifton confiscated knives at a school. Three students were charged with carrying weapons onto school property.

Principal Craig Mathews at Tift Count High School's Northeast Campus got a call that a student had two knives.

He and the school resource officer searched that boy but found no knives. The student told them he gave the knives to girl.

They found the knives in her book bag. That student said she planned to turn them over to teachers.

Police say one other male student was also involved.
