ALBANY, GA (WALB) - It's almost dinnertime. Do you have a menu planned? If not, you may want to pick up dinner at Wendy's and support cancer patients.
Every Tuesday for the next six weeks, all four Albany Wendy's restaurants will support relay for life. From 5 to 7 PM, proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society. You can also make a donation while you're there.
Jen Ivey is the marketing director for the restaurants. She has a personal connection to the cause. She said, "My father has had cancer. I have an uncle right now battling stage four liver cancer. I think everybody can relate to somebody that's fought cancer and hopefully survived cancer."
General Manager Kenny Mitchell said, "We hope that people will come enjoy our food anyway, but now you know you have an extra incentive to come in and support a great cause so please come in and sponsor relay for life with us and enjoy some good food and a good time."
Tuesday night, as a special treat, you can meet Wendy at the restaurant at Ledo Road and U.S. 19. The fundraiser is typically held just once by restaurants as a fundraiser, but Wendy's committed to participate each Tuesday up until the walk on April 15th.
