VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A Virginia man accused of shooting his family in Lowndes County is on trial this week.
Roy Smith is charged with shooting his 16 year old daughter, Rochelle Smith, and her mother Josephine Lonon at their Branche Pointe home in February 2010.
Both of them survived and will testify against him.
Smith was arrested the next day in Virginia and later extradited to Georgia and charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
A jury was seated to hear his trial Monday.
