ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Shahmel Bracket sent shock waves through Hurricane country by scoring five points in the final 15 seconds, including a pair of free throws with nine seconds left, to lead UNC Pembroke past Georgia Southwestern 69-68 and the school's first trip to the championship game of the PBC Tournament.
Georgia Southwestern had the last shot to end the nightmare but Bobby Glover's three-point attempt was off the mark, cementing a night not to remember for the gentlemen from Americus. The winner of the PBC Championship game gets an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Georgia Southwestern, however, is a virtual lock for a tournament bid with a 20-8 record.
