ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A new addition went up near a dangerous intersection in Dougherty County.

Friday, DOT workers activated warning lights on the sign near County Line road and Highway 82.

The roughly $ 5,000 sign is installed to warn drivers of the intersection ahead.

Last summer, two motorcyclists were hit here. One died and the other was seriously injured.

People who drive this area everyday say they've been waiting for action from the state for several years now.

'I think it's the best thing that could happen in the last 10 years because there are people getting killed here every year," said driver, Ronald Poole.

Other drivers we spoke to say they'd still like to see a red light at the intersection.
