ALBANY, GA (WALB) - More new businesses are opening in downtown Albany.

A new grocery store in the 200 block of South Jackson will open next month.

The store will be named It's About Time Meats and Vegetables.  It will be just a couple of doors down from Jimmy's Hot Dogs, across the street from the bus station.

Willie Ross says the store location has a special meaning to his family.  "My father was in this kind of business. He used to sell vegetables on the corner. So he always wanted this store, and it finally got vacant. So that's why I rented it out, and I'm putting it in remembrance of him", said Ross.

Ross said he will sell local produce. This is the first of three small grocery stores he plans to open in Albany, the others will be on South Madison and East Clark Avenue.
