ALBANY, GA (WALB) - One of Albany's busiest weekends is upon us, and downtown businesses are ready.
Mardi Gras festivities begin early Saturday morning with the marathon and bike races. They'll stretch late into the night with a street festival and music.
The weekend has a three million dollar impact on the city with visitors coming to town for the Snickers Marathon Energy Bar Marathon and the SB&T Bike Races.
Downtown businesses like the Subway say they'll double their normal sales this Saturday.
"My Saturday sales are not as large as my weekday sales so when that event occurs on Saturday is jumps those sales right up to the week, just the same," said Delyn Smith, Downtown Subway Owner.
The Flint Riverquarium will host its annual turtle race at 4:00 PM. The Mardi Gras festival with games, vendors, and music runs from noon until midnight.
