ALBANY,  GA (WALB) -  Albany Marines and other military men and women were honored Wednesday morning at the Doublegate Country Club.

The Albany Chamber of Commerce holds the annual Rise and Shine Breakfast every year. More than one hundred people gathered to show support for the Marine Corps Logistics Base.

Awards were also handed out during the ceremony for this year's NCOs and Marines of the Quarter.

"The Marine Corps Logistics Base is really one of our key and largest employers with a massive economic impact. Not only that though, these people that serve our country are essential to our future," Catherine Glover of the Albany Chamber of Commerce.

"It's always said great to have that support. Because sometimes you don't always get a thank you. It's not that we do it for that, but it's always nice," said Col. Terry Williams, MCLB Albany Commanding Officer.
