ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Phoebe Putney Hospital leaders aren't sure when their buyout of Palmyra Medical Center will be official, but they say they're working to make sure they can accept everyone's insurance when it happens.
Right now Phoebe isn't in the network for some insurance companies.
But Phoebe is about to be the only choice in town.
CEO Joel Wernick said Tuesday the hospital is trying to work out contracts with those companies.
"We're very close to signing a number of additional contracts with insurance companies that we historically haven't had contracts with. Phoebe Putney is working to make sure that no insurance companies are considered out of network," said Wernick
Wernick expects to make a formal announcement soon about insurance contracts.
