VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -  The Lowndes County sheriff called off the search for a missing elderly Ohio couple after a body found in tennessee was identified as one of the murder victims.

Dental records proved the body found in Chattanooga Saturday is Dick Russell.

Murder suspect Sammy Littleton told police he dumped Dick and Gladis Russell's bodies in South Georgia.

Lowndes county investigators have been searching since Thursday.

After talking with the Sheriff in Logan County, Ohio, Sheriff Chris Prine decided to stop the search.

"Gladis Russell is still missing and talking with the sheriff with the evidence he has he feels that Ms. Russell is going to be somewhere in the bottom part of tennessee around Chattanooga or in the northern part of Georgia," said Lowndes County Sheriff Chris Prine.

The sheriff says if new evidence is found that Gladis Russell's body could be in South Georgia they'll restart the search.
