A concerned citizen is stepping up to help the children who have been devastated by the tornado in Oklahoma.More >>
ALBANY, GA (WALB) - As the state struggles with a budget crisis, lawmakers may be more willing to allow Sunday alcohol sales.
A Senate committee will hold a public hearing on the issue this week. The General Assembly is considering a bill that would let Georgians vote on whether to allow grocery, package, and convenience stores to sell alcohol on Sundays.
Many people say even if you don't support Sunday sales, the people should be allowed to vote.
"I'm all for putting it to a vote," said Bill Wilson. "Personally I'm against it, I mean you have six days a week to have fun, take a break on Sunday."
Governor Sonny Perdue, who would have to sign the bill if it passes, has opposed Sunday sales in the past.
