COLQUITT COUNTY, GA (WALB) - More than a dozen people were taken into custody in Colquitt County after an immigration raid.

U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement Agents raided the Sanderson Farms Processing plant off of Highway 133 Friday during a targeted enforcement operation. A number of people were arrested for illegal immigration violations.

Several of those people did receive a humanitarian release because they were sole caregivers, but they will have to appear in front of a judge at a later date.

No action has been taken against Sanderson Farms, and investigators say they have been fully cooperative in this ongoing investigation.
