A former South Georgia Wildcats football player is running from the law. This is 28-year old Elliott Tyrone Burkes. You might recognize him as a former arena football player here in Albany.
Albany Police say he he was involved in the ambush of a woman in Radium Springs. Police say the woman drove to a house on Garden Hill Road where a man grabbed her and pushed her into another car, and Burkes took off in her 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse.
The car was later found, but there's been no sign of Burkes.
He's wanted for theft by taking. If you recognize Elliott Burkes or know where he is, please call Albany Crimestoppers at 436-TIPS. You could get a reward of up to one thousand dollars.
Update: Three days after being featured on Most Wanted, Elliott Tyrone Burkes surrendered at the Dougherty County Sheriff's Office, Friday, June 6th.
