Quitman minister arrested

Posted: Updated:

November 30, 2007

Quitman - A minister in Quitman is in trouble with the law.

41 year-old Greg Hamilton, a minister at the Shumate Street Church of Christ, is charged with disorderly conduct.

He turned himself in to the Brooks County Sheriff's Office Friday morning.

A warrant went out for his arrest earlier this week.

Investigators say several members of his congregation reported that he was involved in a fight with two other members of his church.

Hamilton helped organized the march against the Quitman Police after the taser death of Samuel Baker in October.

He tells us the charges are bogus and are scare tactics used by police.

He's currently out on bond.
