Teacher busted for pot possession

Albany -- A Sumter County school teacher is arrested on drug charges in Dougherty County.

Carlton Flowers of Cairo, 43,  was stopped by a Dougherty County HEAT unit just before 7:00AM Thursday at Westover and Dawson Road.

The officer said he smelled marijuana, and Flowers had a suspended driver's license, so he was arrested. A search of his car turned up a small amount of marijuana.

In the police report, Flowers said he was a teacher at Sumter County Middle School.
