Florida group bids for Adventure Parks Group

September 24, 2007

Valdosta - A Florida based investment group is the first of several suitors hoping to take over Adventure Parks Group.

Land Holdings South of Mulberry, Florida filed a base bid of 16 point 8-million dollar to take over Wild Adventures and Cypress Gardens in a bankruptcy court auction.

The auction is scheduled to begin tomorrow and a judge should choose a winner Thursday.

Owner Kent Buescher filed for Chapter 11 protection last September, citing damages to Cypress Gardens from three hurricanes in 2004, and a $25 million insurance claim that had not been paid.

He says that while ownership will change hands, there is no chance either park will close.
