Jerky to Our Troops

June 28, 2007

Cordele -- A Warwick grocer will provide treats for our troops overseas, but will need your support to do it. Striplings's General Store is partnering with the USO in a program called "Jerky to Our Troops."

They hope to send eight thousand, two ounce packages of beef jerky by the end of the year. That's 25 thousand dollars worth of jerky.

Many think it's practical and a great idea. "Me being an ex-marine, I know I would love it. In fact, you can keep in your pocket and it would still be good," said marine veteran Mario McNeil.

Stripling's plans to donate two dollars for every one dollar that is donated from the public for the troops. You can support the project by donating at either Stripling's location.

You can also make your donations online at Striplings General Store.
