FSU Won't Hire Jimbo Fisher

January 7, 2007

Tallahassee -- Jimbo Fisher will not be the new offensive coordinator at Florida State.

Seminoles head coach Bobby Bowden announcing after "extensive" negotiations with Fisher, the offer to become F-S-U's offensive coordinator has been withdrawn.

New Alabama head coach Nick Saban offered Fisher the coordinator position with the Tide early last week, and Fisher may also be waiting to see if Chan Gailey leaves Georgia Tech for the NFL.

The Seminoles coordinator position became available after Jeff Bowden resigned.

Valdosta State head coach Chris Hatcher is still said to be on the list of candidates Florida State is considering.
