Valdosta - A South Georgia amusement park is celebrating nearly a decade of entertainment.
Wild Adventures Theme Park in Valdosta opened May 1996. The park is kicking off a year long anniversary celebration next month with dozens of promotional activities, like a new platinum passport that includes a year's park admission, parking, food discounts, and go kart rides.
They'll also open a new river adventure ride and entertainment show.
Owner Kent Buescher says 10 years ago, he never imagined the park would attract visitors from all over the southeastern United States. "It really could not have happened without the support of all our guests and the community because in a rural area like this, nobody could have ever imagined that you could build a park that would attract this many guests," said Buescher.
The park is planning a community wide birthday party on Memorial Day weekend.
