Gunnery Sgt. Jaren Wright, a native of Valdosta, is currently deployed as the Regional Command Southwest Land Acquisition Manager in Afghanistan.

As American and coalition forces occupy land in Afghanistan, Uncle Sam is using your tax dollars to compensate the Afghanis for its use.

If the Marines damage any legal crops in the process of ridding the nation of the Taliban and Al Qaeda, that is paid for, too.

Wright has a big job in his post as Land Acquisition Chief. The Valdostan is the only Marine within the Regional Command who is authorized to pay the land owners.
