FITZGERALD, GA (WALB) - Fitzgerald High linebacker Brice Garrett is proof that you never judge a football player by his size.
Purple Hurricanes coach Robby Pruitt says Garrett was not even five ten when he arrived at Fitzgerald High four years ago.
This morning, Garrett signed to play football at the University of Sewanee in Tennessee.
Garrett was a three year starter at linebacker and earned second team all-state honors his senior season.
He says proving people wrong is something that motivates him on the football field.
Brice Garrett said. "I think that is going to help in the long run through life as well. You tell me I can't do it. Then I am going to do it and prove you wrong."
Brice Garrett is also a member of the wrestling, weightlifting and soccer teams at Fitzgerald High.
