ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A Florida man on a 10,000 mile bike ride across the country made a stop in Albany Monday to raise awareness about a special cause.

Glenn Fenster is biking for epilepsy.

He started his journey in Miami and plans to pedal his way to New York and into Canada all the way to Fairbanks, Alaska. From Fairbanks, he'll head down the west coast before ending in Venice Beach, California.

Fenster's son suffers from epilepsy and is the inspiration behind the ride.

"When he was 9 we were on the tennis court together and as he was running down a shot, he fell from a seizure. When I went to put my hand to pick him up, he pushed it out of the way. I said, Son don't you want help up? He said no. I asked, How do you keep getting up? He said, Dad, I've never seen you stay down," Fenster explained.

Fenster was joined today by 9-year-old Corey Rocklin of Albany who also has epilepsy.

Fenster will stop in Americus tomorrow. He hopes to arrive in California by July.
