ALBANY, GA (WALB) –A man was killed Monday morning in Colquitt County when his car crashed into a creek.

Troopers say 30-year-old Derrick Chester was driving east on Highway 37 near Cannon Road south of Ellenton.

He lost control of his Nissan Sentra in a curve, over-corrected, and slid into an embankment.

The car then overturned into a creek.

Chester was wearing a seat belt, but he was killed instantly.

No one else was in the car.
