A Valdosta man is in jail Tuesday for a hit and run in one of two crashes he caused.

Troopers say 31 year old Phillip Barnes, driving ran a stop sign and hit a mustang at the intersection of Howell and Clay Roads.

Barnes kept going, crashed again near Southers Road, and ran into some woods.

19-year old Keonya Sila was a passenger in the mustang who was pregnant.

She was taken to a hospital to be checked out. Barnes was also treated at the hospital with for a cut on his face. He's charged with hit and run, failure to notify owner of striking an object which is for the fence he hit when he rolled over, reckless driving running a stop sign, driving too fast for conditions, and failure to maintain lane.
