The Dougherty District Attorney's office has set up a new Memorial for Violent Crime Victims in his courthouse office. The computer video screen system is now located in the D. A.'s office lobby.

It replaces old bulletin boards hung on the office walls that held almost 150 pictures and stories of people who died related to violent crime since 1980. Now those pictures are displayed as a tribute on the video screen.

"Victims, we will always remember you," said D. A. Greg Edwards. "We will make sure your memories are preserved until there are no more victims. And that's the mission that we wanted to try to accomplish with this memorial."

There is also a memory book, for family members and friends of crime victims to sign in remembrance.

The computer screen system was donated by Kevin Hogencamp, the cabinet built by Terry McVeigh.
