The Albany NAACP is starting the week with a new office, new hours, and new leadership. New officers were elected Saturday.

Former city commissioner David Williams is the new president. He and First Vice President Marvin Jones were at the new office on North Magnolia Monday, trying to come up with ways to increase the organizations membership.

They say that's the first goal in moving forward.

"We have plans of working to increase the membership and to somewhat work with the community, we intend to bring the community and that is the business community as well as the community at large together," Williams said.

The group plans to hold several fish fries and a roast to help raise money for the organization.
