An East Albany pawn shop was heavily damaged overnight when someone tried to drive a truck through the front door.

The glass is smashed,  brick work broken, and the entire frame holding the iron bars is damaged on the front of the Five Points Pawn Shop in the 100 block of North Mock Road.

There are tire marks on the sidewalk outside the store leading to the door. Police say they believe the crooks ran empty handed when the store alarm sounded.

Police found a 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck in the parking lot, with glass from the store windows in the bed.

The truck owner reported it stolen this morning.
