Prosecutors want drug suspect's lawyers tossed

LAKELAND, GA (WALB) – Federal prosecutors in a drug case want the defendant's lawyers tossed off the case.

Heavily armed agents arrested Ike Camon at his home in Lakeland Tuesday March 29th. Prosecutors call him a drug kingpin. Friday, they filed a 32-page motion asking a judge to disqualify Camon attorneys Nathaniel Haugabrook and Miles Hannan.

Prosecutors say those lawyers have a conflict because Camon hired them to represent numerous other drug suspects connected to him. The motion claims some of those defendants may be discouraged from providing information about Camon if their lawyers are also his lawyers.

Prosecutors also say Haugabrook and Hannan could be called as witnesses in Camon's case.
