WALB ABC specific area and channels announced

The agreement between Mediacom and WALB-TV will provide WALB ABC to the following areas on the following channels.  

In the Fitzgerald area, which includes Cordele, Vienna, Crisp County, Dooly County, Fitzgerald, Ocilla, Ben Hill County, and Irwin County,  WALB ABC will be on Channel 10, HD on Channel 810.

In the Moultrie area, which includes Tifton, Tift County, Ashburn, Turner County, Sycamore, Omega, Ty Ty, Moultrie, Colquitt County, Sumner, Cook County, and Worth County, WALB ABC will be on Channel 5, HD Channel 805.

In the Pearson area,  Lakeland, Ray City, Pearson, Willacoochee, Lenox, Nashville, Adel, Sparks, Berrien County, Enigma, and Alapaha will get WALB ABC on Channel 7, HD on Channel 807.

The Camilla area,  Camilla, Pelham, Mitchell County, and Meigs, will find  WALB ABC on Channel 2, HD on Channel 802.

And the Albany area, which includes Albany, Dougherty County, Sylvester, Lee County, Dawson, Leesburg, Terrell County, Poulan, Worth County, WALB ABC will be on Channel 9, while WALB ABC HD will be on Channel 809.

WALB ABC will launch April 27th.

DISH and Direct TV have also signed agreements to carry the new ABC affiliate.

WALB NBC will remain on its current channels.

    South Georgia is full of dirt roads and in Baker County officials are concerned with the amounts of expected rainfall.  "Anytime we have a rain event, we are definitely concerned about people in the county being able to travel the dirt roads," said Sherry Bailey, Baker Co. Manager and EMA Director.

    County leaders Early County are keeping an eye on the flood watch...preparing for the worst.  The county's EMA Director has been watching the weather closely since Thursday in preparation for the storm.
