ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Former Albany Mayor and Dougherty County Commission Chairman Paul Keenan died Monday night. He was 90-years old.

He served as County Commission Chairman in the 1960s and 70s. Keenan was Albany's mayor for one term in the 90's and led the city during the Flood of 1994.

Last year, U-S Highway 19 through Dougherty County was named Paul Keenan Parkway.  He owned Keenan's Auto Parts which for years was located in the old Bridge House downtown. Keenan donated that building the city. It was renovated and now serves as the city's welcome center.
