TIFTON, GA (WALB) –School at Tift Area Academy was canceled Tuesday after administrators noticed damage caused from wind during the storm.
The headmaster says parts of a metal walk-way had blown off from the storm. There was also damage to parts of the athletic facility, fence and large pine trees had snapped off.
But thanks to all the help, teachers were able to get up just about everything fairly quickly.
"When it rains our students can get wet pretty easy since we don't have the covered walkway here, of course we only have about 7 weeks of school left, but this is a time we have bad weather so we have to be prepared," said Headmaster Ron Drummonds.
There will be school at Tift Area academy tomorrow.
