200 in Moultrie without power when storms rip through

MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Overnight storms put thousands of South Georgians out of power.

In Moultrie strong winds brought down power lines across the city. Crews worked feverishly all day to make repairs and restore power to customers all over town.

Along Highway 133, Colquitt EMC crews worked along side Moultrie city crews to restore power to a mobile home park. One mother told us she had to get creative to keep the kids occupied since there was no electricity.

"We have been just sitting around or in and out you know just riding around just trying to keep my kids from being bored," said Jennifer Castro, a mother.

The group ate sandwiches and snacks that didn't need much preparation for lunch. In Moultrie, 200 homes were without power at the height of the outage. Tuesday night power has been restored to all of those homes.
