TIFTON, GA (WALB) –An Irwin County man is sentenced to three years probation for punching a police officer last year.

Last March, officers were called to the home of 19-year old Jullian Northcutt after he shot through his fathers front door with a shot gun.

When officer David Adkinson went to arrest Northcutt, he started swinging at Adkinson and punched him several times.

He was charged with felony obstruction of an officer.

In addition to probation, Northcutt also will have to pay fines and fees as well as perform 40 hours of community service.
