Finalists to be interviewed for city's top job

    Ravi Mikel Givens was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He is being held in the Dougherty County jail. Givens, who played ball at Westover and Stetson
    Agents say that police responded to the apartment because of a burglar alarm. Officers found the back door broken open and went inside. That's where they detected a strong odor of marijuana, and saw pot in plain view.

The three finalists for Albany city manager will be interviewed for the job this weekend. 

Each candidate will have eight interviews.  They'll meet with each city commissioner one on one and then with the commission as a group.

Interim city manager James Taylor is one of three finalists for the city's top spot.  Taylor, a retired Marine Corps colonel has been the Assistant City Manager of Public Services for 5-years.    

James Payne is a former city administrator in Waukesha, Wisconsin.     He is now a partner in a consulting business in New Mexico that offers office organizing... Records retention... And management services.    

The third finalist is Barbara Lipscomb, the city manager is Casselberry, Florida.     The University of Georgia graduate is also a former assistant city manager and interim city manager in Gainesville, Florida.
