The Sowega community food alliance continues to work to bring farmers markets to counties in southwest Georgia.    The group met again Monday at Cafe 230 in downtown Albany.

They want to create farmers markets in Albany, Newton, Ft. Gaines, and other locations.     Organizer David Milliner says the goal is to give farmers more places to sell their products and to capitalize on Georgia's largest industry.

He said, "Bring people together.  It's a win-win for everyone and we just really want this area to be richer and create a lot of jobs and take advantage of the agrarian society that we live in."

The market in Albany opens up on May 28th in the parking lot next to the chamber of commerce.     A farmers market is scheduled to open in Baker County on April 30th.
