Posted: Updated:

Mourners packed an Albany church Saturday to say their final goodbyes to a 19-month-old little girl who was beaten to death.

Services for Janaysia Stevenson were held at Metropolitan Baptist Church. Her tiny coffin was covered in pink flowers.

Stevenson died Monday at Phoebe Putney Hospital, prosecutors say she had been beaten for weeks by her mother's boyfriend. The cause of death was blunt force trauma to the abdomen.

28-year-old Gregory Evans is charged with the murder, her mother 20-year-old Chaitia Stevenson is also charged with murder for witnessing the abuse and not reporting it police.

The family had asked the community to help with the estimated $4,500 cost to bury young Janaysia.
