A call center operations company, with a center in Albany, has announced plans to lay off more than one thousand employees at other locations in Georgia and Florida.

Teleperformance USA, a French firm, filed notice with the Georgia Labor Department that they will  have a mass layoff at their Augusta facility. They did not say how many employees would be laid off in Augusta, but the center employs 248 people.

In Florida, Teleperformance filed notice Thursday that it intends to cut 860 jobs from its Boca Raton office and another 363 in Orlando. The layoffs are to be completed by May 31. Teleperformance did not file notice of any layoffs in Albany, and did not return our calls.
