Both a Lee County Sheriff's Deputy and a Lee County High School student may be a little sore Saturday after their vehicles collided on Highway 19 Friday morning.

It happened just after 7:45 Friday morning on Highway 19 north at Creekside Drive. A high school student was following two other vehicles along Highway 19, when they suddenly slowed near the intersection with Creekside Drive.

The teen noticed they'd slowed too late and swerved into the turning lane to avoid them, that's when he rear ended Deputy Matt Pierce.

Both air bags in the teens car were deployed. Neither one received treatment and both walked away from the crash. The Georgia State Patrol is still investigating the crash.
