AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

Two Citizen Bank branches in southwest Georgia are closing. Both the bank branches in Leslie and Plains will close June 30th, pending federal approval.

Bank officials cite a sluggish economy and slow traffic at the two branches as the reason for the closure.

Customers will still have access to online and telephone banking features. Customers who want to stay with Citizens Bank can use branches in Americus and Preston.

Employees at the two branches will be offered positions within the other bank branches.
