(WALB) -  Police in Doerun are trying to track down vandals who desecrated a cemetery.

Monuments and gravestones in the city-owned cemetery some more than 100-years old were damaged or destroyed.

It's been almost two weeks and Doerun Police still don't know who damaged the graves in cemetery.

They hope someone comes forward with information.

"It's one of those things it doesn't matter where you live it seems unthinkable someone would do something like that," said Capt. Sam Smith, Doerun Police Dept.

If the vandals are caught, they'll be charged with criminal damage to property.

If you know anything about the crime, call Doerun Police or the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office.
