Nursing schools to submit plans to state board

Macon, GA -  (WALB) - After finding that nursing students from four Georgia colleges and universities had less than an 80% pass rate on their 2010 state test, the Georgia Board of Nursing wants assessments and actions plans from the schools.

Albany State University, Brenau University,  Dalton State College, and West Georgia Technical College are called on to provide the information to the board.

Albany State had a passing rate of first-time NCLEX-RN writers of less than 80% in 2010, but ASU's three year average did make the 80% mark.

Albany State had a pass rate of 100% in 2009, the latest year statistics were available.

WALB is in the process of getting more information on this story from the Georgia Board of Nursing, Albany State, and the Secretary of State's Office.
