ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Hugh Mills Stadium played host to the 21st annual Smith and Benson Relay track meet on Saturday. 19 schools from all over Southwest Georgia participated in the meet which had everything from sprinting, distance running to field event's including long jump and triple jump. The event brought together hundreds of student-athletes and provided them a chance to showcase their talents.
Meet official Latoya Johnson said "It gives the students something to do. Keeps them involved in something positive at all times. It also lets you use see how coaches work with all the students. Publicity of course from bystanders and people who are overlooking the track meet. Family friends spectators, college officials, high school officials. Collaborate with their peers, show off their talent and abilities and just overall have a good time."
