VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -  About 1,500 customers lost power for a while Monday morning when a semi crashed into a utility pole in Valdosta.

22-year old Noe Ferron took a left onto skipper bridge road and collided with a semi on Bemiss Road around 8:45.

The truck, driven by 56-year old Anthony Allen, ran off the road and hit the pole. Both drivers were treated for minor injuries. Police directed traffic during the power outage.

Most customers had their power back on at 11:30. It took a little longer for several businesses including McDonald's.

Ferron likely will be charged with failure to yield right of way.
