ALBANY, GA (WALB) - APD officer, Todd Barbree, 43 was bitten by a dog after responding to a domestic call Saturday afternoon. He went to the hospital after the pitbull bit him on the inside of this left thigh.

Officer, Barbee responded as backup to 525 9th Ave. when neighbors told him to go next door to 523.

He jumped over a small metal fence. The owner's pitbull ran towards the officer who shot at the dog multiple times, but did not hit her. Neighbors say several people were in the back yard and kids were playing nearby at the time.

"He shot at us three times," said the dog's owner, Alexander Brown. "It isn't really about the dog. I could have had my kids over there."

Animal Control picked up the dog. Brown was able to pick her up Monday.
